Exploring the magical East part of Madagascar in 8 days by car, on foot and by boat, you discover one of the most green landscape of the country. The meeting with many fauna and flora, its wet rain forest, Vakona Private park, Peryeras Reserve, Palmarium reserve, Mantadia and Andasibe National Park where you can observe the biggest living lemur in Madagascar which is the Indri indri.
Starting from Tanà, we are driving towards Andasibe Perinet to see the biggest Lemur of Madagascar: the Indri-indri. A beautiful tale is told about this Indri-Indri or Babakoto (Ikoto’s father, a young boy who was lost in this dense forest and was taken care by this lemur without tail).
The next program is Manambato-Akan’ny Nofy, a shoreline which leads to the famous Pangalanes Channel. This last was built relying different lakes to ease transportation of goods from north to south along the eastern cost of Madagascar and it is 600km long from Tamatave to the south, there is an organized fluvial cruise. We’ll bring you to Ankanin’ny Nofy (the dream nest) where you can observe a dozen species of lemurs and many species of endemic plants.
Day 1: ANTANANARIVO: Meet and greet at the airport. Transfer to your hotel. Sightseeing and city tour in Antananarivo

Day 2: ANTANANARIVO – ANDASIBE 150km: Depart for Andasibe national Park. The drive can take about 4 hours and can already give you the glimpse of the asian landscape with its paddy fields, its architecture as well as the malagasy daily lifestyle. Stop at Marozevo to visit the reptile farm: Geckos, lezards, cameleons, snakes, frogs, bats, and butterflies can be seen there. There is an option to make a first visit down the road after sunset to spot the nocturnal animals

Day 3: VISIT MANTADIA NATIONAL PARK: Today, you visit the remaining primary forest of Mantadia National Park where you can experience a whole day walk in the middle of the evergreen forest. You can discover the animals in the wild: the Indri indri and over 12 lemur species, the black and white ruffed lemur, the Diademed Sifaka, the Brown Lemur, the Bamboo Lemur…Picnic lunch and then transfer back to your hotel.

Day 4: VISIT ANALAMAZAOTRA NATIONAL PARK: Half day visit of Analamazaotra National Park. In the afternoon, you are going to visit Vakona Private Reserve starting with the lemur’s island where you can get familiar with the lemurs in the open area; great time to have fun with the lemurs and you can be able to have some on your shoulders.

Day 5: ANDASIBE – MANAMBATO – AKAN’NY NOFY: After breakfast, depart to the east coast Manambato through the evergreen forest dominated by Ravinala or Traveler’s Palm. Lunch at Manambato and then boat transfer to Akan’ny Nofy. Accomodation at Palmarium Hotel for 3 nights.

Day 6: AKAN’NY NOFY: Day free at your leisure. Possibility to visit the private reserve where you can spot a dozen species of lemurs and many species of endemic plants. In the afternoon, you can visit the fishermen village to meet with local population and share the everyday life of the Malagasy people. In the evening, you can observe the most endangered nocturnal lemur: the Aye-Aye

Day 7: AKAN’NY NOFY-ANTANANARIVO: Breakfast at the hotel. Boat transfer to Manambato and then drive back to Antananarivo
