Madagascar, the fourth largest island in the world, offers an adventure like no other. From Antsiranana to Nosy Be, this 12-day adventure takes you through the breathtaking landscapes of northern Madagascar. We traverse scenic coastal roads, explore lush forests, and experience the region’s vibrant local culture. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to encounter unique wildlife, visit traditional fishing villages, and enjoy panoramic views of pristine beaches. The journey culminates in Nosy Be, a tropical paradise with turquoise waters and an array of marine life, perfect for relaxation and water activities.
Madagascar is one of the world’s poorest countries and a degree of flexibility and improvisation is required at times. The tourist infrastructure in Madagascar is still new and some services are limited. It is not unusual for there to be changes to accommodation or internal flights and for this reason, the order of the itinerary (but not the content) may sometimes have to be changed. However, what tourism does exist is of a pleasantly good standard and you may be impressed by the level of services in some of the places we stay.

After breakfast, we’ll set off early toward Ankarana, with a boat transfer to Ankify. En route, we’ll stop in Ambanja to visit a local cacao plantation, where you’ll discover why Madagascar is renowned for producing some of the finest cacao in the world.
The journey continues through the lush, agriculturally rich landscapes surrounding Ambanja, offering a true taste of the island’s flavor palette. We’ll pass through the fertile Sambirano Valley, a region famous for its cocoa plantations—used in renowned chocolate brands such as Madecasse, Robert, Cinagara, Menakao, and Tsara—as well as for its aromatic coffee, the legendary Bourbon vanilla (yes, the famous Madagascar vanilla), and the precious ylang-ylang flowers coveted by top perfume houses like Chanel.

Depending on your physical condition and preferences, several trail options with varying levels of difficulty will be available, ensuring an experience tailored to everyone.
As you journey through this ancient rainforest, you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into a Tarzan adventure — surrounded by towering trees, hidden waterfalls, and the sounds of vibrant wildlife. The park is a sanctuary of tropical biodiversity, home to seven species of lemurs (out of the 70 found in Madagascar), 75 species of birds, and 59 species of reptiles. Managed by Madagascar National Parks (MNP), the site offers 18 marked trails that lead to sacred waterfalls, natural pools, and forest paths rich with endemic flora and fauna.

After a car transfer to the village of Ramena, you’ll begin a scenic coastal hike across these three bays, following an easy trail along the eastern shoreline of Diego Suarez.
The Bay of Pigeons offers a refreshing swimming break before continuing to Sakalava Bay, a world-class kitesurfing destination. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed on the beach, with time to relax and take in the view before returning to your hotel in the late afternoon.
